A closet door can be another decorative element in your room decor, or it can be a utilitarian way to hide the contents of the closet. There are several types of closet doors to choose from. Hinged doors swing out into the room like other interior doors. Depending on the closet opening, one or two doors can be used. The advantage of swing doors is that they allow full access to the closet interior and can match the rest of the interior doors in the home. The room needs to be large enough to allow the door to swing freely into the room when open.

Sliding doors are two or more panels installed on a set of tracks in the closet opening. One panel slides behind the other to allow access to one side of the closet at a time.
